After two long years, we are excited to say that we will be going back to our Happy Place this summer, California Brazil Camp! And to catch up on CBC, we’ve invited our friends, the directors of California Brazil Camp, Dennis Broughton and Rich Rice, to chat with us on this episode.
If you haven’t heard us mention it in almost every episode of this podcast, here you go. California Brazil Camp provides weeklong immersions in the music and dance of Brazil. Set in the California redwoods, campers enjoy expert instruction, gourmet meals, and find themselves among wonderful fellow campers from across the US, and as far away as Europe and Asia. This annual event (except for pandemic years!) has been happening since 1997 and continues to bring in world-class faculty, from the likes of Hermeto Pascoal, Margareth Menezes. Jorge Alabe, Guinga, , Rosangela Silvestre, Moyseis Marques, Mestre Ailton Nunes, Fabiana Cozza, Pitoco de Aira’, and Alessandro Penezzi, to name a few.
