Epi 85 Léo Leobons
Bio:
Started at Candomblé at the age of eight as Ogã de Xangô, Leo Leobons brings the rhythm in his vein and in his soul. After seventeen years in the United States playing Afro-Latin music, and with numerous trips to Cuba playing and performing with Cuban musicians, he became the greatest Brazilian authority in Afro-Cuban folklore, contributing to the formation of an entire generation of percussionists in Rio de Janeiro. He recorded and performed with a wide range of artists, from Maria Rita to Azymuth; from Nando Reis to Pedro Luís ea Parede; from Lucas Santana to Ramiro Musotto. His work appears in films, documentaries, radio and television programs in Brazil and around the world. His first solo album, “Bá”, was a finalist at the Premio da Musica Brasileira, and his new album “Ritual”, has been praised and played on radio and playlists worldwide, from Ibiza to Athens, from Seattle to Paris from Warsaw to Vienna.
